SPIN OFFS

Ok lets talk about Greys Anatomy and that 2 hour spin off last week. I HATED IT! I liked the Greys stuff but hated the spin off stuff. I like Addison cuz she is rough around the edges and has an attitude but at the same time she cares about her patients. Last nights episode the portrayed her as a big ball of mush, crying all the time. Weve never heard her say or act like she wanted a baby before. (Suzie says she remembers her saying that). Ok, she wants a relationship and a change, but it wasn't believable for her to say, "Oh, I guess I want a baby". Then the black girl she referred to as her best friend. Huh? We've never heard of her either. They should have slowly written all this stuff in instead of pulling it out their ass. It just wasn't our Addison.
Then they have her talking to invisible elevator people as if she would not be able to tell the difference between a thought and a real person? Ridiculous. Oh than the 3 of them sitting around checking out this barley legal kid who is not hot and is not as buff as they are making him out to be? Stupid. He is not even close to a "McAnything."
Im no expert on spin offs but We knew Mrs Garrett long before The facts of life. We knew the Jeffersons from All in the Family as the Bunkers neighbors. We knew Frasier from his stool at Cheers long before the show "Frasier". And we knew about these characters. And I just see Tim Daly as the dorky guy from Wings, not some womanizer. That kiss was a wee bit creepy if you ask me. You dont kiss the dorky guy from Wings like that. I must have missed something, I havnt a clue who that Cooper guy is. Maybe it will grow on me, but so far- not so good. I hope this show flunks and she comes back to Seattle Grace.
One new show I am loving is Notes From the Underbelly. I can totally appreciate it having just been pregnant. And I think the girl (I forget her name, the main character) reminds me of Judy. Anyone else see that? I know your gonna laugh at me Jude, but its true! I think she looks like you!

I finally watched it Friday afternoon. That's what I do on Fridays while Kel's at school. I totally got what you meant the night before. It was too skippy and I'd rather have just had a whole Grey's show than a crossover episode. Let me decide if I like this new show (is there even a name for it yet??) on it's own. I felt like it was 95% new show, 5% Grey's that night. And the Grey's stuff was pretty powerful, especially the end where they kill off Susan!! Totally shocked me and though I'm not a big fan of her character, it would have been nice to devote some time to that, ya know?

I think "new show" is ok at most. I will probably check out an episode or two when it spins off for good. Here's what I like about it: Taye Diggs & Tim Daly. I was a fan of The Nine (which got cancelled) and Tim was in that and I found him to be pretty hot for his age (gaining on 50 I believe). However, I can't stand the Cooper and Amy Brenneman characters. Totally boring if you ask me. And their story lines seem way to complicated for this show. And I'm in total agreement that surfer boy is not hot and is not of legal age in my mind to be drooling over. Way to rip off a diet Coke ad though! I also felt like the whole "surrogate" thing was more meant for an episode of Grey's. And what's up with her "just visiting" some old friends and then delivering babies while on vacation? Can you even do that? The whole episode seemed forced and rushed and I don't know what my final opinion will be.

I do remember Addison saying she wanted a baby, originally it was with Derek, don't think she ever really wanted one with Mark, but I think she would have just to have one.

I just didn't like them force feeding me this new show and taking away good plots from my one favorite show. Hopefully the last episodes of the season are full Grey's episodes!

Ok, I guess I am easy to entertain. I thought it was ok. Not as witty I guess but do you know what crap is on TV these days? It was better than average. And say what you want about the show, but step off Tim Daly. When I saw him that night I said, "Wow! Tim Daly!" I think he's hot. I thought he was the hot guy from Wings. Brian was the goofball. Your perceptions of the other spin offs are really good though. You were right about that.

I didn't enjoy that Cooper character either. Amy Brenneman's character too I guess. I like her but the part didn't seem right for her. Everytime she was crying I just looked at her like when did she get so weird?

Also, I think Addison wanted a baby because she had an abortion with Mark's baby. She needs to have the baby she never had.

I too was shocked when Susan died. I've been doing math all season trying to figure out if Mare Winningham is actually old enough to be a mother figure to Meredith. I couldn't imagine they'd do that to Meredith, killing her mother and new mother substitute. Her father's reaction was great though, perfect for his character. Sucky yes, but dead on.

Ok, you both have made some good points. Im starting to remember a little baby talk when the abortion was mentioned. But still, I think there should have been more on the subject before we see her at a fertility specialist of her supposed best friend. And ASuzie is right, it is oprobably going to be better than the adverage crap on Tv. I still dont like that they have to sacrifice Greys to do it. Abd I agree with you on the subject of Merediths father and Susan. Let me explain myself on the Tim Daly issue. Man,did I catch flack from you both on that one! Hahaha..I do think he is a nice looking guy, and yes Brian was the one on wings who was a goofball. But he was still portrayed on that show as a little dorky. I never watched that show the Nine, so Wings was the last thing Ive seen him do. Guess I cant see him being in a diffrent role let alone one that he is supposed to be a womanizer.

Ok, Have we found out what the new show will be named. I will give it a shot. I have to say, Grey's was so long I was almost waiting for it to end... I wait for this show every week so for me to say ENOUGH... shocked Aaron. I can't believe they killed of Susan, she didn't have the time for Merideth to get to know her. This has happened to a few characters in some shows I like. Last night they killed off one of the main characters in Jericho, it shocked me. Then they alluded to killing off a character on Ghost Whisperer. Oh well life goes on.
